Michael Bay—who last said that Transformers 3 would be a character piece—is now saying the upcoming sci-fi sequel will be different from the first two installments in other ways and gave us a glimpse of where the movie will take place.

Writing on his personal blog, the director says:

Busy scouting - Chicago, Detroit, and Washington D.C. for Transformers last week. Things are going well. The script is feeling very different from the other two. I ended my scout down in Miami this weekend to load my plane with 14 Florida Surgeons, specialists in various fields and flew them down to Haiti.

Bay also posted a few snaps of his mission of mercy to Haiti to aid earthquake victims. Much as we slag on Bay (all in good fun, honest), we applaud his humanitarian gestures.
