There’s been a lot of buzz lately that Microsoft planned to reboot Blake’s 7 as an Xbox exclusive series — but apparently nobody bothered to tell Microsoft it was happening.

Microsoft entertainment exec Kate Barnes spoke at the Edinburgh TV Festival, and was asked about the long-rumored Blake’s 7 series that allegedly started life at Syfy then shifted to Xbox as an exclusive series (a la similar projects at Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.)

Her response? It’s total crap, and the only series they have in active development is that live-action Halo series. So, sorry, Blake’s 7 fans — it looks like that reboot could be on the ropes.

Here are her comments via Den of Geek:

"I think the rumors took on a lot of speed because sci-fi is obviously something at the heart of Xbox, but no, there's nothing to that."

So, what does this mean, exactly? It’s hard to say, but it seems we’ll have to wait a while to find out exactly what’s happening with the project. Syfy has several new series already in development, and all we’ve heard about Blake’s 7 lately was that it was moving to Microsoft. With that (apparently) off the table, this one could either head to the shelf or crash and burn altogether.

Would you like to see this series find a home? Where do you think it should air?
