Ahead of the show’s premiere next week, NBC has dropped a batch of new sneak peeks for their upcoming supernatural series Midnight, Texas.
Penned and executive-produced by Monica Owusu-Breen (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), the series is based on Charlaine Harris’ (The Southern Vampire Mysteries on which HBO's True Blood was based) book trilogy and is the brainchild of Niels Arden Oplev (Mr. Robot).
Set in the fictional town of Midnight, Texas, the titular summer TV series stars François Arnaud (The Borgias) as Manfred Bernardo, a psychic who sees and talks to the dead. The denizens of the supernatural town also include a witch named Fiji (Parisa Fitz-Henley); an angel named Joe (Jason Lewis); a mysterious assassin named Olivia (Arielle Kebbel), a local pawn shop owner named Bobo (Dylan Bruce); Rev. Emilio Sheehan (Yul Vazquez), who may be a werewolf; a wise vampire named Lemuel (Peter Mensah); and an aspiring writer named Creek (Sarah Ramos).
The first sneak peek features interviews with the main cast, who reveal whether they’d ever live in the town of Midnight, Texas (would you?), and we also have a clip and several new promos for the series to sink your teeth into. Midnight, Texas premieres July 24 on NBC.
From Niels Arden Oplev, the visionary director of Mr. Robot, and based on the hit book series from Charlaine Harris, the author behind HBO’s True Blood, comes a journey into a remote Texas town where no one is who they seem. From vampires and witches to psychics and hit men, Midnight is a mysterious safe haven for those who are different. As the town members fight off outside pressures from rowdy biker gangs, ever-suspicious cops, and their own dangerous pasts, they band together and form a strong and unlikely family.
