It’s taken a while, but we finally have our first look at Miles Morales as a full-fledged resident of the main Marvel Universe.

Marvel has dropped the first preview pages from Spider-Man No. 1, which finds the former Ultimate Spidey taking up the mantle in the All New, All Different Universe. We still don’t know exactly how Miles ends up here (since the publisher is taking its sweet time with that last issue of Secret Wars), but it seems he also brought some of his Ultimate world with him. Miles’ best pal Ganke is present in the preview pages, along with what appears to be his family … which is an interesting development, as fans are likely aware.

Of course, we've already seen Miles hanging around with the new-look Avengers, but this is our first peek at his actual life, and how he's fitting in to this new continuity. For those worried of Spidey overload, don't. Over the course of his original Ultimate run, Miles has grown into a fully fledged character all his own, with his own social circle, problems and abilities.

Here’s the comic’s official synopsis:

Welcome to the Marvel Universe Miles Morales, hope you survive the experience! That’s right, he’s here – and the Marvel Universe will never be the same again. Today, Marvel proudly presents your look inside SPIDER-MAN #1 – the highly anticipated new series from blockbuster Miles Morales co-creators Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli! Sure, he’s been doing the super hero thing for a while now, but following the events of Secret Wars, Miles finds himself a full-fledged member of the Marvel  U. Swinging next to Iron Man, Captain America and Thor as a member of the Avengers and patrolling the Big Apple’s rooftops as NYC’s own Spider-Man! But it’s not all fun and games. A lot has transpired in the eight months since Secret Wars and an entire new universe awaits him – friend and foe alike. Plus, his grades are in the toilet.

This ‘book should be a nice change of pace from Peter Parker’s globetrotting adventures (and the elder Spidey is actually rumored to serve as a mentor of sorts to young Miles), and it’s great to finally have Miles swinging around in the big sandbox.

The first issue is set to hit shelves on Feb. 3.
