It's no secret that Fox is on a casting spree looking for the next Fantastic Four. The previous iteration starred Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis and a pre-Captain America Chris Evans. Considering the names being thrown around, the studio's obviously going for a different look. The rumored shortlist includes Kate Mara, a 19-year-old Saoirse Ronan, Game of Thrones alumnus Kit Harington and Richard Madden, plus Miles Teller.

As you can see, that's a very mixed bag. For the most part, none of them really scream Fantastic Four. But that may be part of the design. In an interview with Collider, Teller revealed his thoughts on the franchise's new direction. When asked if he'd be ready to beef up for that skin-tight suit, the costume seemed like the least of his worries.

"If that were to happen, I think the characters would be taken in a different direction than the kind of blue suits and stuff from the franchise that had previously been done, which you’d have to if you’re gonna reboot something," Teller explained. "You really got to kind of put your own spin on it. But with that being said, all I need is like, a couple weeks to just get my body back in shape. So the answer to that is yes, I could get back in shape."

Judging by the casting choices, it looks like Fox and director Josh Trank are giving the Fantastic Four a complete makeover. There's nothing wrong with reboots, but you have to maintain the original spirit of the story and its characters.
