The Hellboy reboot Rise of the Blood Queen is fleshing out, what with David Harbour cast as the boy from Hell and Ian McShane given the role of his human dad, Professor Bruttenholm. Now director Neil Marshall's cast list has added another familiar name: Milla Jovovich.

According to Coming Soon, Jovovich has been cast as the titular Blood Queen, who is likely the Queen of Blood. Hellboy fans may recognize her as the former Nimue, a witch who was taught by Merlin, had him "imprisoned in a grave for eternity," and then went insane.

The Queen of Blood was eventually butchered. Because she was so powerfully evil, the witches who killed her also scattered her pieces—a punishment doled out by people who want you to die... and stay that way.

Jovovich is known to some as Leeloo in The Fifth Element and known to others as Alice in the Resident Evil series. But if this role is as powerful as the character who appears in the comic book, we may come to know Jovovich as the terribly tough Nimue.

Hellboy should be hitting the big screens in 2018. How long is that in reverse dog years?
