We already knew The X-Files would be back for another new season on Fox, and now the supporting cast is starting to come together.

Deadline reports Mitch Pileggi has signed on to reprise his role as Walter Skinner in the 11th season (the second as an event series) of the beloved sci-fi series. Outside of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, Pileggi was a stalwart of the original series and a key part of the story — so it’s great to hear he’ll be back in some capacity.

The new season is set to start filming in the summer for a tentative premiere date next season.

So what will the story focus on? That’s anyone’s guess, though the Season 10 finale ended on one heck of a cliffhanger, so creator Chris Carter and his writers’ room will have their hands full to resolve a global crisis and bring fans the case-of-the-week action they’ve come to know and love.
