New images from Godzilla: Resurgence featuring the iconic giant monster have found their way online. And he looks positively terrifying.

The images were shared via Twitter, and they give us our first good look at the kaiju since the first found-footage-style teaser and poster were released about a month ago. It's the first Godzilla movie in over a decade for TOHO.

Whereas the poster gave us a good idea as to the overall look of the pop-culture icon, the teaser sadly revealed nothing at all (although it was pretty cool to at least hear the big guy).

In the pics below, you can see the King of the Monsters sporting monstrous-looking sharp teeth, those strange beady eyes, and what look like radioactive burns on his reptilian skin.

The 29th movie in TOHO’s monster franchise, Shin Godzilla, or Godzilla: Resurgence, hails from co-directors Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (he did the visual effects on the Gamera trilogy), with a screenplay by Anno.

Resurgence is the first Godzilla film since 2004’s Godzilla: Final Wars. It is set to open in theaters across Japan later this year. No news yet as to when it’ll be released in North America.
