Ahead of the hotly anticipated release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story next month, new images from the newest movie set in a galaxy far, far away have emerged.

Not only do we have a batch of cool new pics (you can have a look at them in the gallery below), but we have some interesting info about Darth Vader (voiced once more by James Earl Jones) and what his relationship with Rogue One’s Imperial special weapons director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) will be. Let's just say I seriously doubt these two will ever be BFFs because, according to Lucasfilm’s head of story development, Kiri Hart (via Entertainment Weekly), Darth Vader will be a double threat -- not only for the fledgling Rebel Alliance, but for Director Krennic as well. Here's what Hart said:

“There are military men who are interested in a really effective piece of military hardware, and Darth Vader is a little bit beyond that, right? He’s tapped into something on another level, on a spiritual level. So, that’s part of the fun of Vader in the context of the Imperial Military. He’s got a broader perspective.”

Hart also touched upon the differences between Vader and Krennic, who’s been previously described as a blue-collar villain, saying:

“Here is the thing about Krennic: his perspective obviously is that of a person who doesn’t understand the Force, and Darth Vader comes at everything from the perspective of understanding the Force. So that I think is the thing that you see sort of separating Darth Vader from other characters with regards to a super weapon [The Death Star] like this.”

There's lots more info about the new movie on the site, so click on the link below to learn more about some of the characters, storyline, new planets, spaceships and more. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker and James Earl Jones. The movie will open on Dec. 16.
