We’re now a handful of days away from the highly anticipated Season 4 premiere of Fear the Walking Dead. To whet our appetite for the zombie series, AMC has released a first clip featuring Morgan (Lennie James) — who will crossover from The Walking Dead following the Season 8 finale — as well as a video featurette introducing us to the show’s new characters.

“I lose people, and then I lose myself. I didn’t know how to make it stop.”— Morgan Jones.

Morgan crossing over from the mother ship to the companion series is definitely a bold move, and it will be interesting to see how Fear the Walking Dead’s new showrunners, Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, will pull off the first character crossover in the two shows’ history. Also, don't expect FTWD's Morgan to be the same as TWD's version of Morgan, which means some major character growth probably? Jones said that his character will be different at a recent WonderCon appearance. Have a look at the first sneak peek:

The 90-second clip sees Morgan coming across a wounded man in a truck. While Morgan tries to help him by leaving some clean bandages and a bottle of rubbing alcohol behind, the man shouts at Morgan to take it back. “Looked like you were on your own,” Morgan says. “We’re always on our own,” mystery man replies before Morgan takes back the bottle of alcohol, shuts the door, and leaves the man to his ultimate fate.

The newly released behind-the-scenes featurette explores the new characters that will be introduced this season; namely Morgan, John (Garret Dillahunt), Naomi (Jenna Elfman) and Althea (Maggie Grace). Talking about Dillahunt’s character, it’s pretty neat seeing him playing a cowboy again considering his previous tenure on HBO’s Deadwood.

“When we first meet John, he’s got a cowboy hat on, holsters, six-shooters. We don’t quite know what the whole story is with that, but it’s something we'll come to learn is really integral to who he is as a person,” Chambliss says in the featurette.

The 2-minute video boasts some insightful interviews about each of the four new characters with the new showrunners and new kids-on-the-block James, Grace and Elfman. They are joined by returning stars Danay Garcia (Luciana), Kim Dickens (Madison Clark), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia Clark) and Colman Domingo (Victor Strand).

Titled “What’s Your Story,” the Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 premiere will air on April 15 right after The Walking Dead wraps up its eight season.
