It’s not a game anymore, and Season 4 of Sherlock will be darker than ever! The first teaser trailer for Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ hit series was released during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel.

The beloved BBC series stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Mark Gatiss, Amanda Abbington, Una Stubs, Rupert Graves, Jonathan Aris and Louise Brealey. Season 4 will see the addition of Captain America actor Toby Jones in the role of a mystery Sir Arthur Conan Doyle villain who's all set to pop up in Episode 2.

We're told something is coming in Season 4. Is Moriarty (Andrew Scott) really still alive, then? (“Did you miss me?”) Or is it an elaborate ruse played by the show’s new villain? Could he be the one pulling some sick, twisted strings? One thing for sure, there’s going to be a lot going on in 221B Baker Street!

Sherlock is set to return in 2017.
