Production is officially underway on Season 11 of The X-Files, and despite last season’s bonkers cliffhanger, it seems Mulder and Scully will be back together and ready for action when the series returns.
Gillian Anderson shared a set pic alongside David Duchovny, with both of the long-time stars looking no worse for wear despite an apparent catastrophe at the end of Season 10. The new season is expected to run for 10 episodes and ease back on the mythology-driven episodes than could often be a mixed bag during the show’s original run. If this second revival season gets us back to the Mulder and Scully basics, that’a a good thing, right?
Though we don’t see them in Anderson’s pic, Season 11 of The X-Files is also bringing back some old (and new) supporting players. Co-star Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) and Annabeth Gish (Monica Reyes) will be back, alongside Season 10 co-stars Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose (the two played a Mulder and Scully-esque duo of younger agents).
The new season of The X-Files is set to premiere in 2018.
