Since Ant-Man and The Wasp finished up its theatrical run earlier this summer, which (eventually) tied into the events in Avengers: Infinity War, the world has been waiting with baited breath for any news on the MCU front.
Now, Marvel Studios' head honcho Kevin Feige has weighed in with some... fairly vague answers about what we can expect from Phase 4 and beyond.
When speaking to journalist Erick Weber last night, Feige played it close to the vest, but still managed to reveal a few nuggets about what's to come for the mega-franchise.
The big takeaway here is that Namor's introduction to the MCU is currently being discussed, though Weber clearly pointed out this was preliminary at this point. Still, it would make sense for Namor to show up. Not only is he one of Marvel's very first superheroes, dating back to the days when the company was still known as Timely Comics, but the hype growing around DC's upcoming Aquaman movie could push Marvel to bring the Sub-Mariner into the fold for an undersea world all their own.
It's worth noting that Marvel's flirted with its Golden Age characters before, with the original Human Torch suit being seen briefly in Captain America: The First Avenger.
As far as the long-awaited trailer for Avengers 4, Feige said that should come "before the end of the year," which leaves Marvel about 66 days to deliver. Whenever the trailer does drop, it will almost certainly reveal the title. This will stop the endless speculation on what the title could be, and almost certainly kick-start speculation on what the title means for our heroes.
Finally, Feige addressed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is still "on hold," more-or-less confirming all the other reports as to where the production currently sits, since the studio fired director James Gunn back in July.
