Space pr0n fans, take note: NASA is now uploading 4K, ultra HD footage that is about the closest thing you’ll get without literally being in space.

The folks at NASA have started posting some stunning new footage to the Internet, and the first reel is basically a day-in-the-life type of clip from the International Space Station. The best part? It’s actually in 4K ultra HD, and it looks gorgeous. Considering the budget cuts and uncertainty surrounding space exploration these days, some awe-inspiring space footage could be a great (and easy!) way to generate some fresh buzz.

Here’s NASA’s description of the footage:

The view of life in space is getting a major boost with the introduction of 4K Ultra High-Definition (UHD) video, providing an unprecedented look at what it's like to live and work aboard the International Space Station. This important new capability will allow researchers to acquire high resolution - high frame rate video to provide new insight into the vast array of experiments taking place every day. It will also bestow the most breathtaking views of planet Earth and space station activities ever acquired for consumption by those still dreaming of making the trip to outer space.

Check out the first full-length reel (3+ minutes) below and let us know what you think:
