Natalie Portman continues to get in touch with her Star Wars roots. Or legacy. It’s a little tricky when you consider the timelines of everything. But regardless, the Queen Amidala actress has been tapping into the original trilogy more and more in past weeks — making the prequel’s Skywalker matriarch that much closer to her children.
While Portman earlier commented that she’d never met Mark Hamill (who played her son, Luke, in the original trilogy and the first two films of the most recent trilogy), she’s been on talk shows and theme parks attempting to immerse herself in all things Star Wars.
Theme parks? Yes, the Oscar-winner hopped on Instagram to show off her selfie with some Stormtroopers at Disneyland. Did she feel somehow tangentially responsible for the proliferation of this clone army? The caption doesn’t address it and her smile shows no signs of guilt.
Take a look:
OK, so the Imperial army’s totalitarian tactics can’t be blamed on the queen-turned-senator. But the picture did give us flashbacks to Attack of the Clones, which may merit a rewatch after this theme park team-up.
