Nathan Fillion tells fans not to send him money for Firefly

If you were about to send some change Nathan Fillion's way so he could buy the rights to Firefly, better put it back in your pocket, because the former Capt. "Mal" Reynolds would rather you keep the money for yourself. As we reported earlier, Fillion mentioned last week that he'd love to continue the Firefly saga—without Fox—and joked that he hoped he'd win $300 million in the lottery so he could get the rights to the show and run with them. Well, a fan campaign immediately sprang up to do just that. But today Fillion tweeted:
It's beautiful to dream of more Firefly, but PLEASE DON'T SEND ANY MONEY. Just keep being great Browncoats, which you are!
We're not sure how the "roughly 70,000 people" (according to Help Nathan Buy Firefly) who've expressed willingness to chip in to get Firefly relaunched will react to Fillion's request ... but somehow we suspect this isn't over.
