Trollhunters was just the beginning of Guillermo del Toro’s fruitful relationship with Netflix.
The streaming giant has purchased a horror anthology series titled 10 After Midnight from the critically acclaimed director, who recently won two Oscars for The Shape of Water.
You say “anthology” and we immediately think of The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits, but del Toro might spring for a more Alfred Hitchcock Presents or Tales From the Crypt sort of vibe.
10 After Midnight’s episodes are described, according to a release, as “a collection of personally curated stories that are both equally sophisticated and horrific.”
While he will be writing and directing certain installments, the filmmaker is also set to hand-pick a collection of writers and directors best suited to the horror genre.
