In November 2015, Mystery Science theater 3000 creator Joel Hodgson announced a Kickstarter effort to fund new episodes of the series after 16 years off the air. The campaign set a crowdfunding record and Hodgson quickly sped forward to assemble a new cast and a new writing staff for the revival. Then Netflix picked up the series, and it was only a matter of time before we got to see it.
Today, we finally got a premiere date. Netflix announced the return of the series with a new cast photo and revealed that we'll be going back to the Satellite of Love on April 14.
Granted, there aren't a lot of details to unpack with this news, but the date alone is enough. We finally get our robot friends back in less than two months.
Now we just have to wait for the really fun reveal, which we probably won't get until the premiere: Which cheesy movies (the worst we can find -- lalala) will Jonah and the Bots watch? Step right up and place your bets!
