Adolescence is striking back with a vengeance in a new teaser trailer for the second season of Netflix's Big Mouth

Our main characters are sitting in a sex-ed class taught by the hilariously inept Coach Steve (Nick Kroll) when the Hormone Monsters (voiced by Kroll and Maya Rudolph) rip off the roof of the school and swallow them whole.

They find themselves in the gut of the monster named Maurice (also Kroll) and are informed by Jay (Jason Mantzoukas) that the only way out is through the beast's, uh, sphincter.

Watch the teaser below:

Co-created by Nick Kroll, Big Mouth (which feels like a spiritual successor to Clone High) follows a group of middle schoolers who are going through the hormone-raging, anxiety-filled, and downright strange period known as puberty.

To better conceptualize this stage of human development, the show utilizes the Hormone Monsters, hairy and horned creatures (there's a sexual pun there somewhere) that represent the deepest and most depraved vices of the sexual experience. Their crass comments and sight gags are what usually draw the biggest laughs.

Aside from Kroll, Rudolph, and Mantzoukas, the cast also consists of: John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jenny Slate, Fred Armisen, Richard Kind, and Jordan Peele, who plays the ghost of jazz legend Duke Ellington.

For the show's second outing, Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) and David Thewlis (Harry Potter) were cast as new girl Gina and Shame Wizard, respectively. According to Collider, Gina "is a girl on Missy and Jessi’s soccer team who shakes up the social dynamics of the school," while Thewlis' Wizard "is the Hormone Monster’s mortal enemy who haunts the kids, stoking their deepest shame!"
