This never-released vintage atomic bomb test footage is truly terrifying

There's nothing like the blinding glare of a blossoming mushroom cloud in the Nevada desert to wake you up in the morning. Check out this menacing minute of never-seen HD footage from the military's main atomic testing zone in 1955. This series of disturbing detonations was conducted as part of Operation Teapot at the Department of Energy's Yucca Flat Nevada Test Site during the chilly winter months of that year.

Duck and cover, then witness the shock and awe of these four thermonuclear bombs bursting over the shimmering sands.
