The film has been scaring up its fair share of controversy, with plenty of religious-themed imagery being used in less-than-savory ways. A six-second spot for the film was recently banned from YouTube, and who knows, a freaky new TV spot that was just released could go the same way.
The spot features all kinds of horrifying imagery, from demonic nuns, burning crosses, and everything in between. If you want to see what all of the fuss is about, take a look at the new spot right here. Be quick about it, because for all we know, this one could get banned as well.
The Nun is set in Romania, and will tell the origin story of the spirit known as Valak. If that name sounds familiar, it's because that's who Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga were hunting in The Conjuring 2. Demian Bichir stars as Father Burke, and Taissa Farmiga (Vera Farmiga's real-life sister) will play Sister Irene.
It's hard to get a firm grasp of what the film will entail other than Farmiga's character going through the wringer. It's chockfull of disturbing and creepy imagery, but that's pretty much what Conjuring fans have come to expect.
The Nun will be ready to scare the cassock right off of you on Sept. 7. Will it scare? Do you dare? Let us know down there... in the comments.
