Fans of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are a day away from being taken out of their misery (well, I know I will, since it's been nagging at me for a while) concerning the mysterious identity of the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. when Jason O’Mara makes his debut in tomorrow night's episode.

Entertainment Weekly has released a brand-new clip from “Meet the New Boss” where we, um, meet the new boss! Funny thing is, he’s not exactly how last week’s episode seemed to depict him. Adding to the deepening mystery is the fact that the character is said to have his Marvel roots go all the way back to the 1940s ... and from the clip, we finally know his first name is Jeffrey.

One 1940s Marvel character's name that pops up is Jeffrey Mace, who first appeared in the pages of Human Torch Comics #4 (the Jim Hammond Human Torch, not the Johnny Storm one) back in 1941. Also known as The Patriot, the character became the third Captain America (again, in the comics). Could O’Mara’s S.H.I.E.L.D. character be Jeffrey Mace? Hopefully, we’ll actually get to find out tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Check out the new clip:

Do you guys think Jason O'Mara is playing the MCU version of Jeffrey Mace?
