New AHS: Cult teaser trailer and poster suggest a Hive Mind

If there's one thing FX's American Horror Story does best, it's trailers and teaser videos. Creator Ryan Murphy has a knack for imagery that is both visually arresting and psychically targeted to our worst fears.

AHS: Cult, which is the title of the fifth season of the series, is no different. Clowns, darkness, creepy music, bizarre rituals, and the sort of surreal art AHS fans have come to associate with the series have run throughout the new campaign, which really kicked off with this trailer at SDCC –– and it looks like that was just the beginning of the nightmare fuel.

FX released a new poster and two new teaser videos that are sure to make you look twice, and maybe even stare a while, before you realize the thing your mind finds beautiful is truly macabre.

I'm also curious as to the connection between the hexagon logo and the bees. Is it a reference to a cult being like a hive mind? Or does the cult include bees and clowns? What do you think?

Personally, I'm pissed that Ryan Murphy put clowns in a bubble bath. Not okay, dude. I still have flashbacks to Nightmare on Elm Street and Heather Langenkamp.

But you have to admit, it's pretty damn good.
