American Horror Story: Asylum is the cover story of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. The magazine gives us our first look at the characters of season two. It also takes us behind the scenes and reveals the show's terrifying new villain.

What or who is Bloody Face? Back in July, AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy tweeted a set photo of Adam Levine in front of a creepy drawing. It was a deformed head with the caption "Bloody Face." It's fair to say that he/she/it could be this season's version of the Rubber Man. What do you think of its flesh-covered mask (above)?

Other photos feature the cast and crew behind the camera. You can see Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto and Joseph Fiennes take a break from their roles as a nun, doctor and priest. There's also a shot of newcomer Chloe Sevigny, who plays a nymphomaniac named Shelley.

American Horror Story: Asylum premieres Oct. 17.
