Over the weekend, Starz released a new trailer for the upcoming horror series Ash vs Evil Dead. It emphasizes everything you loved about the original films: blood, gore and Bruce Campbell. The actor returns as the title character, Ash J. Williams, a role he first played in 1981.

Producer Sam Raimi also returns for the first episode, which he directed and co-wrote with Ivan Raimi and Tom Spezialy. Ash vs. Evil Dead reunites Raimi and Campbell with Lucy Lawless, who they both worked with on the series Xena: The Warrior Princess. The rest of the cast includes Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Mimi Rogers.

Once again, Ash must battle flesh-eating demons to save mankind. Despite being well into his 50s, he still has that immature charm audiences fell in love with 34 years ago. Ash vs. Evil Dead seems to stick with what made the first film a hit. There are gruesome death scenes paired with light-hearted humor.

Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres at the most opportune time, Halloween! Starz will unleash the first of 10 episodes Oct. 31 at 9 p.m.
