Ahead of tonight’s episode of The Flash, The CW has released a brand-new clip that seemingly hints at the arrival of a major DC villain.

The clip features Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten), who continue to hit it off in the most adorable geeky way. During their conversation, though, there are hints that they’ll be on the hunt for a shark-man metahuman. How cool is that?

After pulling off Grodd rather beautifully last season (and he’s coming back later this year), it looks like the superhero TV series will be tackling King Shark next. The humanoid shark-man villain has been recently depicted in the comics as a mutated hammerhead shark post-Flashpoint continuity. But before that, his appearance was similar to a great white.

Long story short, King Shark was first introduced as a Superboy foe back in the mid-1990s but has since then been a major thorn in the side of many a character, including Jimmy Olsen and Aquaman. He was even a member of the Suicide Squad (the character was even rumored to be in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad movie for a time) and Secret Six.

INTRODUCING FIRESTORM — Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team look for another Firestorm match for Dr. Stein (Victor Garber). When the team meets Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (guest star Franz Drameh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) has her reservations about whether Jax is the right match for Dr. Stein. Iris (Candice Patton) surprises Joe (Jesse L. Martin) while Barry and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) grow closer. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Kai Yu Wu & Joe Peracchio (#204).

What do you think? What are the chances we'll actually be seeing King Shark on The Flash?
