Exploring the extreme side of Ghostbusters fandom, a spirited new documentary called Ghostheads seeks to explore the essence of the intense following of those faithful to Columbia Pictures' spooky franchise that first manifested itself in 1984.  Directed by Brendan Mertens,  this new project probes into the slime-coated paranormal attraction of the Ghostbusters phenomenon and its deep impact on pop-culture and people's lives.

With Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters feature appearing in theaters this summer, now is the perfect time to reflect back on the genesis of the haunted comedies and try to examine just what incites such loyalty and obsession. Joining the ranks of other organized fan communities for Marvel, Star Wars, Firefly, Star Trek and Doctor Who, Ghostheads is recruiting funds to complete post-production work through its Kickstarter campaign and has already secured candid interviews with Ghostbusters royalty Ivan Reitman, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and William Atherton.
