Riding the brimstone wake of yesterday's intimidating images of David Harbour as Hellboy for the new feature film reboot landing January 11, 2019, Oregon-based Dark Horse Comics is prepping some fresh omnibus collections of Mike Mignola's original Hellboy comics. They're set to arrive for 2018 to get you pumped for his return to the big screen.

These four new deluxe editions chronicling the misadventures of the gigantic horned hellion will showcase every Hellboy story written and illustrated by Mignola, including Mignola's team-up with illustrator Duncan Fegredo. One of these demonic tales will be "The Wild Hunt," whose plotline will provide the foundation for the upcoming Neil Marshall-directed Hollywood reboot. One cool feature of the omnibus editions is that they will present each Hellboy story in chronological order within the red-skinned creature's universe, as opposed to the original publication dates.

"I'm very excited to finally have all the Hellboy stories collected in chronological order," said Mignola in a Dark Horse statement. "And I'm especially excited to have the three Duncan Fegredo books — all the stuff with Alice and the Queen of Blood — together in one collection for the first time."

In addition to this tempting quartet of Hellboy omnibus trade paperback collections, Dark Horse is launching a new companion series titled Hellboy: The Complete Short Stories, offering two volumes of shorts written by Mignola and illustrated by a talented roster of artists like Gabriel Ba, Fabio Moon, and Richard Corben. All prestige volumes will showcase new cover artwork by Mignola, expertly colored by his well-known collaborator, Dave Stewart.

The only downside in all this incredible Hellboy news is how long we'll have to wait to crack open the covers. The premiere volume of Hellboy Omnibus will stomp into comic shops on May 23, 2018, and retail bookstores on June 5, 2018.
