This spring, Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan headlines The Host. But the film, based on a Stephenie Meyer novel, isn't a sappy teen romance. The only thing it shares with Twilight is its author. The studio just released a new featurette where Ronan proves her character is no Bella Swan. And instead of vampires, how about aliens?

On the surface, the film looks like another love triangle filled with emo angst. Ronan's character, Melanie, is torn between two young men, played by Max Irons and Jake Abel. But instead of focusing on that, the video shows us how rough and tough she is. Thankfully, this one should be loaded with action.

Melanie's a fighter. She's been trained to defend herself against multiple attackers. She's proficient in hand-to-hand combat, and has no problem jumping out of windows. Don't believe us? See it for yourself.

The film version of The Host is written and directed by Andrew Niccol and opens in theaters March 29.
