Looks like New Line Cinema’s upcoming horror movie The Children has locked down its main cast.

According to Variety, Linda Cardellini (ER, Bloodline) has been cast as the lead in the James Wan-produced movie, being directed by Michael Chaves (Chase Champion) from a script by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. The Avengers: Age of Ultron actress (she played Hawkeye's wife, Laura Barton) will take on the role of a social worker who, “while investigating the mysterious disappearance of two children, discovers her own family might also be in jeopardy.”

Joining Cardellini in the horror flick is Patricia Velasquez, who played Anck-Su-Namun in The Mummy (NOT the Tom Cruise movie), and Sean Patrick Thomas (Save the Last Dance, The Fountain), who recently lent his pipes to Professor Adam Macalester on the CW seed’s Vixen. While we know Velasquez and Thomas have been cast, there's no word as to the characters they'll play.

The film's latest casting coup is Breaking Bad and Alien: Resurrection alum Raymond Cruz, who has been tapped to play the intriguing role of a “Catholic priest turned shaman,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fans of the Emmy-winning series and Better Call Saul will know Cruz from his performance as crazy drug dealer Tuco Salamanca. He also plays Detective Julio Sanchez on Major Crimes.

As you guys likely know, New Line has been on a roll this year. Annabelle: Creation (also produced by Wan) took in more than $100 million domestically, and their big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s It became the highest-grossing horror film of all time, tallying more than $600 million at the box office so far.

What do you think of the cast for The Children? Does New Line have another horror hit on its hands?
