If you’ve been missing the Mel Gibson era, the latest trailer for Warner Bros.’s Mad Max: Fury Road should be right up your alley.
Just one month away from the release of the eagerly anticipated road war, the studio has dropped a new legacy trailer that looks back at the entire saga of the franchise. That’s right: It goes back to the 1970s and 1980s roots of the George Miller series, including some nice highlights from Mad Max, Mad Max 2 and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
Yes, Tom Hardy might be taking up the mantle in Fury Road, but Warner Bros. is quick to remind us this is all the same universe you’ve known and loved for decades, even back when Gibson was a bona fide action star. Seeing footage from all these films tied together in one trailer, the juxtaposition really goes a long way to connect the aesthetics of the franchise. Fury Road definitely seems to fit right in with the rest of the series.
