Marvel just announced a new Miles Morales-led comic book series called Miles Morales: Spider-Man, hiting shelves this December.

Yes, we're heading back to Brooklyn for more Spidey-adventures in Marvel's upcoming series. Eisner Award-winning writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Javier Garrón are teaming up to put Miles and his alter-ego Spider-Man up to a whole new set of challenges this winter. It's tough out there saving lives and still finishing up that math homework.

While the upcoming animated film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse will bring together a plethora of Spidey characters from across the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales: Spider-Man will focus on Miles alone. And according to Ahmed, in the series Miles deals with the age-old issue of balancing his duties as Spider-Man with his personal life and issues like "dealing with bullies, assistant principals, and canceled teen dates." Sometimes those feel like life or death issues when you're a teenager.

When villains start popping up in Morales' neighborhood, he naturally throws on his Spider-Man suit and is ready to protect the innocent. Plus, Miles will encounter some supervillains (Rhino, gets specifically mentioned) and also the "dark realities of our modern world."

Maybe Miles will even have to deal with the oh-so-relateable issue of a dead cell phone battery, too?

Miles Morales: Spider-Man Issue #1 hits shelves Dec. 12.
