We’re little more than two weeks away from the eagerly anticipated premiere of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and the CW has released a new promo for its upcoming timey-wimey superhero series.

Titled “Break All the Rules,” the promo sees Time Master Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and our ragtag group of rogues and heroes travel back in time to 1975, where Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) comes face to face with his younger self. What does he do? Comment on the glorious thickness of his hair, that's what.

The whole thing is filled with humorous quips from various characters, including Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) and Rip Hunter himself. “I’m a Time Master. Making discreet alterations to the timeline is what I do. [Gets hit by Hawkgirl] You people, please stop hitting me!”

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself.

I think this series is gearing up to be a boatload of fun, with lots of humor in the mix (just what the doctor ordered). It may even be The CW’s funniest superhero series yet, even though our Legends are about to square off against a really big bad immortal villain in Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).

DC's Legends of Tomorrow premieres on Jan. 21.
