There’s a new Silent Hill game coming, straight from the gloriously twisted mind of Guillermo del Toro and starring a highly popular Walking Dead star.

Yep. You’ve read that right. Master of horror Guillermo del Toro is developing a new Silent Hill game along with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. Not only that, but the game will star none other than Daryl Dixon himself, actor Norman Reedus!

The new entry in the very popular Silent Hill franchise was announced by Sony on Tuesday at the Gamescom conference taking place in Cologne, Germany.

Sony took the long way round to make the exciting announcement by making a very long teaser available for download on the PlayStation Store under the title of “PT,” meaning playable teaser.

Gamers had to be patient since the reveal came after an hour and 16 minutes, but when it came, it was brillant. We had chills when we saw the back of a man shown walking down a dark street. When the man turns, it’s Norman Reedus in all his CGI glory before we get the reveal of the Silent Hills (yep, you've read that right, HILLS) logo.

You can take a look at the PT demo here.

Are you guys excited to see Guillermo del Toro, Hideo Kojima and Norman Reedus bring Silent Hill to life again?
