That Spider-Man game for PS4 that's been in the works from Insomniac for what seems like forever finally has an official release date: September 7, 2018. In a new preorder trailer from Sony, you can get a good look at Peter in action while also receiving a glimpse at some of the bonuses you'll get if you preorder a copy today. For example, you'll get skill points and three alternate suits like a Spider-Punk suit while the other two in the special pack are currently mysteries, an incentive for you to place your order, no doubt. There are other unlockable goodies such as a Spider-Drone Gadget, Spider-Man PS4 Custom Theme, and Spider-Man PSN Avatar.

Titled Marvel's Spider-Man, you'll get to play as a 23-year-old Peter Parker, who is interning at a lab and about to graduate from college. He's also settled into his normal routine of protecting Manhattan as the famous webslinger. Unlike previous Spidey games, this one promises to be more of an open world and will even allow you to play as Peter (think Zero Suit Samus) and Mary Jane Watson at certain points throughout the plot.

Marvel's Spider-Man becomes available September 7, but you can preorder a copy here. You've got quite the selection of three different editions: Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector's. The last one is obviously the most expensive at $149.99 and comes with (among other things) stickers, a Gentle Giant statue, an artbook of concept designs for the game, and three post-launch story chapters, featuring new characters and missions.

This is Insomniac's first licensed game in over 20 years, as the company has mainly dealt with its own original properties like Spyro, Ratchet & Clank, and Resistance
