If you’ve ever wanted to step into Sulu or Spock’s shoes on the bridge of a starship, the moment has finally arrived.

Ubisoft has dropped the new virtual reality game Star Trek: Bridge Crew, which is basically a VR simulation that lets up to four players take control of the key positions on a starship’s bridge to carry out missions. From exploring uncharted space to butting heads with the Klingons, there’s a whole lot of final frontier out there to explore. The game works with Oculus Rift, Playstation VR and HTC Vive and lets players serve in captain, helm, tactical and engineering roles on the experimental ship the U.S.S. Aegis.

Virtual reality games are still an emerging market, but for sci-fi fans, this could be one of the closest things yet to a killer app. The game is scoring solid reviews for its creativity, not to mention the multiplayer aspects that let a bunch of Trekkies get together and nerd out as real-life Starfleet officers.

Check out some trailers and gameplay footage from the game below and let us know what you think. Namely, is this cool enough to get you to invest in a VR rig?
