After nearly a decade spent in development, Fumito Ueda’s next video game opus, The Last Guardian, is about to unfold on our TV screens. To whet our appetite for the new epic adventure, PlayStation has unleashed a brand-new cinematic trailer. Prepare to get all the feels.

The follow-up to Ueda’s hit videogame Shadow of the Colossus, Sony"s The Last Guardian features the adventures of a young boy (a staple of Ueda's games) who befriends a mysterious gryffon-like furry creature (with the cutest face ever) named Trico. Players will have to take control of said young boy, who has to communicate with the giant creature so that they can “overcome obstacles and survive mysterious dangers.” Sounds pretty sweet, don’t you think? Here’s an official synopsis for the video game:

Facing unknown dangers in a strange and mystical land, an ordinary young boy and his gigantic feathered friend must rely on each other to survive in this harrowing story of friendship and trust.

Check out the trailer below (the first part looks more like a clip from the game than a trailer per se, but it's absolutely stunning, and the swelling music gave me goosebumps all over) and let us know if this one is on your must-buy list. The Last Guardian will arrive on Dec. 6.
