Universal has released a new clip from the horror prequel The Thing, and it has everyone on edge. Paranoia is in full effect, and it's taking over the crew. Unlike the previous clips and trailers, this one doesn't show who's been "compromised"—it just shows everyone going insane.

The Thing follows a group of Norwegian researchers, a helicopter pilot and a paleontologist, who get stuck in the Arctic with an extraterrestrial creature. Aside from the fact that the alien is dangerous and can kill them at the drop of a hat—it's also a shapeshifter, which mean one of these things is not like the other.

The previous trailers have made the mistake of showing us who the creature impersonates, which kind of knocks the wind out of our sails. That's why we're pleased to announce that this new clip shows nothing but humans. Pissed-off, confused, frustrated humans who are succumbing to their fear.

Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is leading a lynch mob against some of the other scientists. Obviously, prior to this scene someone was kidnapped or lost, and she thinks one of those guys did it. By the end of it all, everyone's involved in a shouting match that leaves nothing resolved. Fear and paranoia are a dangerous combination!
