Looks like we won't be getting a Bourne-style Fantastic Voyage after all: Despite earlier reports that Bourne director Paul Greengrass was in talks to remake the classic 1960s sci-fi movie in 3-D, he has decided to drop out.

That's the report on Deadline:

Paul Greengrass won't be directing Fantastic Voyage, the 3D remake being prepped by 20th Century Fox and producer James Cameron. I'm told that Greengrass is focusing instead on Treasure Island, a stylized adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson novel that Sherlock Holmes producer Lionel Wigram is working on at Warner Bros. Greengrass hasn't locked into that project either; they are trying to agree on a screenwriter.
We were told last month by producer Jon Landau that he and Cameron (who made Avatar together) were talking with Greengrass.

Do you have any ideas for a director who may be more appropriate?
