News briefs: Dollhouse pre-orders soar; Potter score drops

A special Comic-Con edition of the first season of Fox's Dollhouse went on sale on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday, and within a couple of hours fans crashed the site; the regular edition of Dollhouse will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on July 28.

New Line Records will release the original soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on July 14, a day before the movie opens in theaters; the score features more than 60 minutes of music from the film, written by Nicholas Hooper (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).

Following the success of its Terry Pratchett adaptations Hogfather and The Colour of Magic, Sky said Monday that David Suchet, Charles Dance and Richard Coyle will head the cast of Going Postal, a forthcoming Sky1 high-definition production of the novel from fantasy writer Pratchett's Discworld series, according to The Hollywood Reporter; the show will air on Sky1 HD and Sky1 next Easter.

Brad Garrett is developing Dumb Bunny and Jackass, a half-hour animated comedy series for Sony Pictures TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter; the R-rated project, which is targeted for cable, is based on characters created by Bill Kopp and follows the lives of the most popular cartoon duo in history after their fall from stardom.

The family sci-fi movie Race to Witch Mountain drops on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 4, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
