News briefs: Carol in Cannes, Galactica on Blu-ray

Disney's A Christmas Carol will unspool at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, a 3-D version of the classic Dickens tale as re-envisioned by director Robert Zemeckis.

Battlestar Galactica: Season 4.5 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on July 28 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment with 13 hours of extras, three unaired extended episodes of the series finale, never-before-seen deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes and commentary and podcast interviews with executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick.

NBC has opted to push the remaining seven episodes of Kings to the summer, where it will air Saturdays at 8 p.m. from June 13 to July 25, Variety reported.

Yahoo! Movies has posted a new clip from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, featuring a violent encounter between Logan (Hugh Jackman) and Victor (Liev Schreiber). Wolverine opens May 1, and Apple has a new trailer.

To coincide with the May 21 release of Terminator Salvation, Twitter users will have the chance to join the human resistance against the machines in Sony Pictures Releasing International's first-ever game created for the social networking platform,

Star Trek: Original Motion Picture
will drop on Blu-Ray and Star Trek: Motion Picture Trilogy comes to Blu-ray and DVD on May 12.

Meanwhile, The Best of Star Trek: The Original Series and The Best of Star Trek: The Next Generation arrive on DVD on the same day.
