News briefs: Happy Town rates poorly; MIB 3 gears up

ABC's Happy Town drew weak ratings in its 10 p.m. debut last night, The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reported; Happy Town drew only 5.2 million viewers and a 1.7 preliminary rating among adults 18-49, dropping 39 percent from its lead-in, Cougar Town.

Production Weekly tweeted that Sony's Men in Black 3 has opened up production offices at Kaufman Astoria Studios in New York, with plans to begin filming in August.

Dwayne Johnson has signed to star in the action thriller Protection, which is scheduled to shoot in New Mexico this fall; Johnson will star as Hombre, a mercenary Mexico City security operative forced to smuggle the daughter of a high-ranking judge and the judge's chief legal counsel across the border while being pursued by corrupt cops, drug lords and white collar U.S. criminal forces.
