News briefs: Jackman fights robots; Downey in Harvey?

Hugh Jackman is in talks to star in the Shawn Levy-directed fighting-robot movie Real Steel for DreamWorks, Variety reported; Jackman would play an ex-fighter who has to reinvent himself when human boxers are replaced by robots.

Christopher Nolan's sci-fi action film Inception will be released in IMAX as well as conventional theaters on July 16, 2010.

LATimes.com reports a rumor that Iron Man's Robert Downey Jr. will star in Steven Spielberg's remake of Harvey.

Director Rob Zombie and actors Tobin Bell and Noah Segan will join Oscar-winning makeup artist Rick Baker as honorees at the Chiller Eyegore Awards, which will serve as the opening night event at Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights, which kicks off a 16-night run on Friday.

The Nordstrom department store will feature a line of Twilight-themed clothing starting Oct. 15, and with every purchase over $50 comes with a chance to score one ticket to the red-carpet premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on Nov. 16 in Hollywood; the movie opens wide on Nov. 20.

Playbill reports that Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company musical production of Time After Time, a time-travel romance based on the 1979 movie, will be choreographed by Broadway star Ann Reinking; the musical will play Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse Feb. 26-March 14, 2010.
