News briefs: Keanu in space; Heroes star busted

Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness) is in advanced negotiations with Morgan Creek to direct Passengers, a sci-fi romance film he described as "a love story set on a spaceship," with Keanu Reeves set to star, Variety reported.

Former Heroes star Adrian Pasdar was busted for driving under the influence early Wednesday, after cops spotted the actor swerving and speeding on a Los Angeles freeway, E! Online reported; the 44-year-old was clocked driving his Ford F-150 truck at 94 mph, was booked on the DUI charge and released on $15,000 bail.

The first part of the first season of ABC's FlashForward drops on DVD on Feb. 23.

ABC has given an order for No Ordinary Family, a superhero pilot written by Jon Feldman and Greg Berlanti, Variety reported; the show centers on a regular American family that suddenly finds itself with new super abilities.

Producers of The CW's Supernatural plan a Web-based spinoff, Ghostfacers, which will premiere on and on The CW's Web site as 10 three-minute episodes about a team of ghost hunters who tape their exploits in documentary fashion; the spinoff is based on the episode "Hell House."

Lord of the Rings composer Howard Shore is on board to write the original score for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Movie Score Magazine reported.
