News briefs: Meyer in Piranha, Slade helming Cold

Bloody-Disgusting reports that fan favorite Dina Meyer (Starship Troopers, Birds of Prey) will be playing "Paula" in Alexandre Aja's upcoming Piranha 3-D; the site added that Brooklynn Proulx will play "Laura," Quinn Lord is "Zane" and Riley Steele rounds out the cast as "Crystal."

30 Days of Night's David Slade, who just signed on to direct The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is also attached to helm Cold Skin, an Antarctic island horror/psychological thriller and an adaptation of the best-selling Spanish novel of the same title, Variety reproted.

Dark Horizons reports that Johanna E. Braddy and Kyle Gallner have joined the cast of the indie drama Unicorns, which centers on an awkward teenage girl who escapes to a fantasy world when her first romantic relationship turns increasingly abusive.

Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield, True Blood) has joined the cast of Hot Tub Time Machine with stars John Cusack and Rob Corddry, according to The Hollywood Reporter; Crispin Glover and Sebastian Stan also have signed for roles in the supporting cast of MGM's time-travel comedy.

The swine flu outbreak is the reason Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group announced a four-week postponement in Mexico of the religious thriller Angels & Demons, from May 15 to June 12, and the delay of Terminator Salvation by eight weeks, from June 5 to July 31, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
