News briefs: New Moon sells out; NBC develops fanboy show

The upcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon is now the all-time leader among the top advance ticket-sellers on Fandango as of Sunday, surpassing 2005's Star Wars: Episode III—Revenge of the Sith, the site reported. It accounts for 86 percent of weekly ticket sales on the site; Thursday midnight showtimes are already sold out across the country.

Atlantic Records announced the release of Avatar: Music From the Motion Picture, the official score album companion to James Cameron's upcoming epic 3-D movie; the score features music composed and conducted by James Horner (Titanic) and will be released digitally and physically on Dec. 15.

NBC is developing an as-yet-untitled semi-scripted comedy—from sitcom veteran Larry Charles (Seinfeld) and McG's Wonderland production company (Supernatural)—that centers on a group of sci-fi fanboys in a small town who shoot their own version of a canceled TV show, Variety reported; Charles will write, executive-produce and direct the project.
... reported that the DVD/Blu-ray of Ruben Fleischer's Zombieland will drop on Feb. 2, 2010, while the DVD/Blu-ray of Pandorum will drop on Dec. 22.
