News briefs: Nimoy in Star Trek Online, Canada gets more Listener

Atari, Inc. and MMO developer Cryptic Studios announced that Leonard Nimoy has joined the voice cast of Star Trek Online, the upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game, and will be heard during key scenes and events in-game as Spock.

NBC's The Listener will get a second season, but not on the peacock network: The Canadian series about a telepathic paramedic got good ratings during its first season in Canada and worldwide markets, and season two is scheduled to begin production in 2010.

The release date of the upcoming futuristic movie Priest has been moved earlier by a week, to Aug. 20, 2010.

Rob Zombie's Unrated Director's Cut Blu-ray and DVD of Halloween II drops on Jan. 12, 2010.

Film and television composer Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) will provide the original score for Fox's upcoming comic-based series Human Target, which previews on Fox on Jan. 17, 2010.

Reruns of The CW's Supernatural will begin airing on TNT, beginning with the pilot episode on Jan. 4, 2010.
