News briefs: Plummer's Priest role; new Evil casting

Scott Stewart, director of the post-apocalyptic vampire movie Priest, tweeted that new cast member Christopher Plummer "plays Monsignor Orelas, the leader of our Orwellian Church State."

Boris Kodjoe revealed more about his role in the currently filming fourth Resident Evil movie, along with some plot details, and also revealed the casting of Prison Break's Wentworth Miller and Heroes' Ali Larter, who also played Claire Redfield in 2007's Resident Evil: Extinction, BlackFilm reported.

The Japanese animation franchise Voltron: Defender of the Universe has become the subject of a legal battle between a group of independent producers and a family company that controls the property, according to The Hollywood Reporter; in a suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, producers James Young, Ford Oelman and Mark Costa of banners Animus Films and NHO Entertainment allege that St. Louis-based World Events, which holds rights to the television property, and its partner Kickstart Productions negotiated illegally with other producers during what the producers say was an exclusive period.
