News briefs: Primeval canceled? World War Z film delayed

Total Sci Fi Online reported a rumor that ITV has canceled its dinosaur-themed sci-fi series Primeval after three seasons because of budget cuts at ITV; it's unclear how this will affect plans for a Primeval movie.

Executive-turned-screenwriter Marc Haimes has come on to work on the sci-fi adventure script Family History, in development at Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter; described as National Treasure meets Back to the Future, the movie is about a family on a treasure hunt through time.

Quantum of Solace director Marc Foster says that the anticipated film adaptation of the zombie-themed World War Z may have to wait a little longer: Speaking with Migros Magazin (via Dark Horizons), Forster says the film's script still needs a lot of development and is "still far from realization."

Summit Entertainment is releasing Knowing and Push on DVD and Blu-ray on July 7.

HitFix reported that Coldplay will "very likely" be featured in or will be on the soundtrack for the Twilight sequel, The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Warner Home Video is releasing the Karloff & Lugosi Horror Classics DVD set on Oct. 6, featuring four classic horror movies with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi.
