News briefs: sci-fi Robin Hood; Ice aces Nemo

Producers of The Dark Knight and 300 are developing a futuristic take on Robin Hood, with commercials director Nicolai Fuglsig signed on to direct, The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Biz blog reported; Jason Hall will write the screenplay, set in a dystopian London and dealing with a band of thieves whose activities restore hope to the city's embattled population.

Over the weekend, 20th Century Fox's Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs became the highest-grossing animated title ever overseas, posting a total of $551.4 million through Sunday, overtaking Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo, which grossed $524.9 million internationally in its 2003 release, Variety reported.

The Simpsons: The Complete Twelfth Season arrives on DVD Aug. 18 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, featuring all 21 episodes from the 2000-01 season and special features, including an introduction from Matt Groening; audio commentaries; deleted scenes; animation showcases; original sketches; a special language feature; featurettes and more.
